Phone farm rental: rent the farm, not the phones
Rent a whole phone farm instead of building one: DeviceFarm rents ready-made fleets of 20 to 6,000 Android phones in a datacenter, from $39.99 per 30 days for 20 phone slots plus runtime. Every phone keeps its own device identity and proxy slot, with no deposit, no racks to wire and nobody on site, and you can cancel anytime from Billing.

What Is Phone Farm Rental?
Phone farm rental means paying for a ready-made fleet of phones for a set period instead of buying, wiring and maintaining devices yourself. On DeviceFarm you rent 20 to 6,000 real Android cloud phones 30 days at a time, from $39.99 for 20, plus runtime at $0.012 a minute capped at $2.10 per phone per day.
Phone farm rental is renting capacity rather than individual devices. You choose a fleet size (20, 50, 100 or 200 phones, and larger tiers up to 6,000) and pay one price for 30 days of it. Inside that fleet you create, clone and delete phones as accounts come and go, without anyone shipping, flashing or replacing hardware.
Every phone in a DeviceFarm rental runs real Android on ARM phone hardware in a datacenter. It is not an emulator, and it is not an Android virtual machine on an x86 server. Each phone is an isolated Android device with its own persistent identity and its own proxy slot, and it streams to your browser.
What separates a rented farm from renting a single Android phone is the unit you buy. A farm is priced by tier, so the cost of each phone slot falls as the fleet grows: before runtime, $2.00 per slot at 20, $1.00 at 50, $0.29 at 1,000 and about $0.14 at 6,000. That suits agencies, sellers and growth teams whose phone count changes from one month to the next.
A real Android phone, kept in our datacenter
Each DeviceFarm phone is real Android running on ARM servers in our datacenter. It works like the Android phone you have at home, except you open it in your browser instead of holding it.
Real Android, on ARM servers
A complete Android system, Android 10 to 16, running natively on ARM servers: the same chip architecture as the phone in your pocket. Not an emulator, not an Android VM on a PC.
Used like the phone in your hand
Install apps from the catalog or your own APK, sign in, tap, swipe and type. Apps run on it natively, the way they run on an Android phone.
Kept in our datacenter
It stays on when you close the tab, keeps its own identity and proxy slot, and you control it from your browser on devicefarm.io. It has no SIM card, so no calls or carrier SMS.
What do you get when you rent a phone farm?
A rented farm on DeviceFarm comes with everything except the accounts and the IP addresses. Each plan includes:
- Your tier's number of phone slots, each holding a full Android cloud phone that is created and streaming in under 60 seconds, on the Android version you pick from 10 to 16.
- A persistent device identity per phone (IMEI, Android ID, MAC and Bluetooth MAC, Wi-Fi BSSID, serial, model, timezone and locale), kept across restarts. Our glossary entry on device isolation explains why separate accounts need separate devices.
- One proxy slot per phone, in SOCKS5, HTTP or HTTPS, so every phone can reach the internet from its own IP.
- Browser control: a live stream of each screen, up to 24 phones side by side in multi-view, and bulk start, stop and delete for the phones you select.
- Groups and tags to sort the fleet by client, platform or campaign.
- Unlimited team seats at no extra cost, with runtime tracked per member and an option to assign phones to specific members, who then see only their own.
- Your own apps, added from the dashboard app catalog or uploaded as an APK, and installed on the phones you choose.
- Optional, with the Automation add-on at $99 a month on top of the plan: built-in automations for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, X, Pinterest, Gmail and Telegram, plus the REST API and the MCP server covered in the API reference and the guide to running phones from Claude.
What a phone farm rental does not include
- Proxies. Every phone has a slot, but you bring the IPs. Our guide to residential proxies for cloud phones covers which type to choose, and the partners page lists providers our users run.
- SIM cards and phone numbers. Rented phones have no SIM, so verification codes need a number you hold elsewhere.
- The accounts themselves, and responsibility for how they are used.
How much does it cost to rent a phone farm?
The bill has two parts: a plan that reserves your fleet for 30 days, and runtime that is charged only while a phone is switched on. Here is the plan side, taken from the full tier ladder on the pricing page:
| Fleet size | Plan for 30 days | Per phone slot |
|---|---|---|
| 20 phones (Starter) | $39.99 | $2.00 |
| 50 phones (Pro) | $49.99 | $1.00 |
| 100 phones (Scale) | $59.99 | $0.60 |
| 200 phones (Enterprise) | $99 | $0.50 |
| 500 phones | $189 | $0.38 |
| 1,000 phones | $289 | $0.29 |
| 6,000 phones | $819 | $0.14 |
Runtime costs $0.012 a minute per running phone and never more than $2.10 per phone per day; the cap is reached after 175 minutes, and nothing past it is billed. Each paid plan includes 60 free runtime minutes a month, counted once for the whole account rather than per phone. A stopped phone costs nothing beyond its plan slot. Built-in automations and API access are a separate add-on at $99 a month.
What 20 rented phones cost over 30 days, depending on how long each one runs:
| Each phone runs | Runtime | Plan | Total for 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 minutes a day | $107 | $39.99 | $147 |
| 1 hour a day | $431 | $39.99 | $471 |
| Around the clock (daily cap applies) | $1,259 | $39.99 | $1,299 |

Renting vs buying vs a box phone farm: which costs less over 12 months?
Buying gives you assets; renting gives you a bill with a ceiling. A box phone farm, where phone mainboards are packed into one chassis and controlled from a computer, sits in between: denser than loose phones on a shelf, but still hardware you buy, power, cool and repair.
Renting costs less when phones run only part of the day, when the fleet grows and shrinks, or when nobody can be on site. Owning usually costs less within a year when a stable fleet runs more than about an hour a day, every day, and someone is there to maintain it. The phone farm cost calculator runs both sides over 12 months, and how to build a phone farm walks through the owned route step by step.
How fast can a rented phone farm go live?
Each phone is created and streaming in under 60 seconds. Once one phone is set up, you can clone it: the copy starts with the same Android version, datacenter and proxy settings, and you point it at its own proxy before giving it a new account. The twentieth phone takes no longer to configure than the first. There is no shipping, flashing or cabling step anywhere in the process.
Can you scale a rented phone farm up or down?
Yes. Each plan covers 30 days, paid upfront; card plans renew monthly by default until you cancel. To grow mid-period, upgrade and pay the difference between the two plan prices; the extra phone slots are available right away. A smaller tier applies from your next 30-day period.
Before a downgrade takes effect, delete the phones you no longer need. If the fleet is still larger than the new tier allows, the newest phones above the limit are removed automatically.
Who maintains the hardware, and what happens when a phone fails?
We do. Racks, power, cooling, cabling and worn-out hardware stay on our side, not on your to-do list. On your side, a phone that misbehaves is a restart from the dashboard, or a delete and a fresh phone in under a minute.
If something looks wrong across several phones at once, message the team directly on Telegram at @devicefarmio.
What happens to your phones and data when you stop renting?
To stop, cancel from the Billing page, or switch auto-renewal off when you pay by card. Your phones stay available until the end of the 30 days you paid for, and the dashboard warns you during the last 7 of them. Payments are non-refundable, including for days you do not use.
Once the paid period ends, you have a 48-hour grace window to renew. After that, every phone in the account is permanently deleted along with everything stored on it. Deleted phones cannot be recovered, so move the accounts you operate before you leave.
Team offboarding works the same way on a smaller scale: when you remove a teammate, their access to the dashboard, the phone viewer and ADB ends.
Who should not rent a phone farm?
- Anyone who needs only one or two phones, for example to keep a game running: DeviceFarm is built for fleets, and the smallest plan is 20 phones for $39.99 per 30 days.
- Teams running automated app tests in a CI pipeline. Test labs such as AWS Device Farm or BrowserStack are built for that job; see DeviceFarm vs AWS Device Farm.
- Workflows that need a SIM card in the phone: a carrier number, calls, or SMS received on the device itself.
- Operators whose fleet is stable, runs around the clock, will keep doing so for years, and has someone on site to maintain it. Owning the hardware usually costs less in that case.
Everyone else, from agencies running client accounts to sellers with several storefronts, is the reason rental exists. Agencies will find the client-side workflow in phone farm for agencies, and the phone farm guide covers how farms work in general.
Built on real hardware, run from your browser
One price per fleet size
Plans are priced by tier, from $2.00 per phone slot at 20 phones to about $0.14 at 6,000. Spare slots stay cheap, so you can keep phones ready for the next client.
30 days at a time, no deposit
Each plan covers 30 days, paid upfront. Card plans renew monthly by default; turn that off at checkout or cancel anytime from Billing. Upgrade mid-period for the difference between the two plan prices; a smaller tier applies from your next period.
Runtime with a daily ceiling
$0.012 a minute while a phone runs and never more than $2.10 per phone per day; every plan includes 60 free minutes a month for the whole account. A stopped phone adds nothing.
Every teammate included
Unlimited seats at no extra cost. Track runtime per member, and assign phones to members so each one sees only their own when client work has to stay separate.
Pay by card or crypto
Pay by card or in crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Solana and most other coins). Crypto tops up your account wallet through NOWPayments, and the plan is then paid from the wallet.
Support on Telegram
Questions about sizing, billing or a stuck phone go straight to the team at @devicefarmio on Telegram, not to a ticket queue.
Owning a Phone Farm vs Renting One
Loose phones on a shelf and box phone farms both put the hardware on your side of the ledger. Here is what changes when you rent the fleet instead.
| Owning (loose phones or a box farm) | Renting on DeviceFarm | |
|---|---|---|
| Money up front | Every device bought before the first account goes live, plus hubs, chargers, shelving and cooling | None. From $39.99 a month for 20 phones, no deposit |
| Time to the first working phone | Days to weeks of sourcing, shipping, flashing and wiring | Under 60 seconds per phone |
| When hardware fails | Swollen batteries, dead ports and boot loops are yours to diagnose and replace | Hardware upkeep is ours; you restart or recreate the phone from the dashboard |
| Shrinking the fleet | Idle devices keep their purchase cost, and reselling them takes time | Pick a smaller tier for your next 30-day period |
| Device identity | Fixed by each device; a new identity usually means new hardware | Each phone has its own persistent identity; a new phone brings a new one |
| Where it runs | Wherever you put it, on your power and your internet line | In our datacenter, streamed to your browser |
| Who can operate it | Whoever can reach the room or the remote-control setup | Unlimited teammates at no extra cost, from any desktop browser |
| Usually cheaper when | A stable fleet runs more than about an hour a day for a year or longer, with someone on site | Phones run part of the day, the fleet size changes, or nobody can be on site |
How to Rent a Phone Farm in Four Steps
- 1
Start a free trial
Create an account without a credit card. The trial gives you a phone and a few runtime minutes to check the stream, your apps and your proxy.
- 2
Pick a tier
Count one phone per account you need to keep separate, add a few spares, and choose the tier that covers it. You can resize at your next renewal.
- 3
Create and configure phones
Each phone is live in under 60 seconds. Attach a proxy, install apps from the catalog or your own APK, then clone the setup across the fleet.
- 4
Run the farm with your team
Invite teammates at no extra cost, group phones by client or platform, and watch up to 24 screens at once in multi-view.
