What is an Android phone farm in the cloud?
An Android phone farm in the cloud is a fleet of real Android phones hosted in a datacenter that you rent and control from a browser, instead of buying, wiring and charging handsets yourself. On DeviceFarm, every phone runs real Android on ARM phone hardware, keeps a persistent identity of its own and gets its own proxy, so each account lives on its own device with its own history.
Real Android on ARM, not an emulator
Each phone runs Android 10 to 16 on ARM phone hardware in our datacenter. No BlueStacks, no LDPlayer, no Genymotion, no Android VM on an x86 server. Apps run on the architecture they were built for, with no translation layer in between.
A persistent identity per phone
Every cloud phone gets its own IMEI, Android ID, MAC address, Bluetooth MAC, Wi-Fi BSSID, serial number, brand, model, timezone and locale. The values are unique to that phone and stay consistent from one session to the next.
One account, one device
Because the identity persists, an account always comes back to the same phone with the same history. Client accounts at an agency, test devices on a QA team and campaign profiles stay cleanly apart instead of sharing one phone.
A dedicated proxy slot per phone
Attach a SOCKS5, HTTP or HTTPS proxy to each phone, residential or mobile, and match its country, timezone and locale to the account it runs. Useful for regional QA, geo-specific campaigns and operating from the right market.
